It's possible that many of the disappearances of Brown Pelicans after
they turn up in Wisconsin and Minnesota are due to their fishing
technique. When they're in the ocean, water depth is pretty reliable
out from shore. Not so in many lakes. It would be a very rude
awakening to hit a rocky bottom.

For the love, understanding, and protection of birds

There is symbolic as well as actual beauty in the migration of birds.
There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of
nature--the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after
the winter.
