The Cattle Egret was still present at 8:00pm at the Bloomington Ice
Gardens, in the same wetland previously mentioned by Ben. It was just
about in the middle of the pond in a shallow spot with a few cattails.

I also heard an American Bittern calling on nearby Marsh Lake. To get
to the bittern spot, take the well maintained trail heading north out
of the Ice Garden parking lot. Not more than 100-150 ft north of the
parking lot, a small less maintained footpath heads off to the west.
That footpath takes you to a nice vantage of Marsh Lake, ending on what
looks like the remnants of an old dock platform. The last couple feet
require some careful steps or a soggy shoe. The bittern was calling
off to the north of the old dock platform.

Thanks to Ben for the report!
