A friend alerted me to the presence of a Great Gray Owl at her house, 
along County Road 7, approximately 7 miles west of Grand Marais. It has 
been actively hunting the meadows around her house for the last few 
days. My friend has seen the owl catch several rodents, so apparently it 
is good hunting ground.

She has seen the owl at various times during the day --- I saw it this 
evening (Feb. 5) at about sunset.
