This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday April 25th, 2013.

In Kittson County, a GLOSSY IBIS and up to seven WHITE-FACED IBIS were found and photographed on the 24th. They're feeding along county road 4 about 12 miles east of Lancaster. Also on the 24th, Dedrick Benz found two White-faced Ibis near Hokah where Houston County Road 26 crosses the Root River. In Swift County, Cara Greger reported three ibis on the north side of U.S. Highway 12 in the northwest corner of Danvers. Steven Brown photographed two White-faced Ibis at the junction of Traverse County Roads 88 and 9 on the 24th. Another White-faced Ibis was in Becker County on the 19th, northeast of Lake Park.

On the 24th, Bruce Baer found a RUFF at Lake Byllesby in Dakota County. The bird was originally seen from the Dakota County park on the west end of the lake, but has not been reported recently.

The CINNAMON TEAL that has been at the southeast corner of the Silver Creek Reservoir near Rochester in Olmsted County was seen as recently as the 20th.

Two CATTLE EGRETS were at the 180th Street marsh in Dakota County on the 22nd.

Karl Roe found a SNOWY OWL on the 22nd in Ramsey County. It was along state highway 36 between Fairview and Snelling Avenues.

Mark Luecke photographed a female SUMMER TANAGER at his feeder on April 22nd in Minnetonka, Hennepin County.

An amazingly early BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER was photographed by John Richardson in Brainerd, Crow Wing County. It had visited his yard on April 21st. A sampling of other spring arrivals includes SWAINSON'S HAWK, RED-THROATED LOON, AMERICAN BITTERN, VIRGINIA RAIL, AMERICAN AVOCET, HUDSONIAN GODWIT, WILLET, FRANKLIN'S GULL, BONAPARTE'S GULL, CASPIAN TERN, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, SWAINSON'S THRUSH, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, and LARK SPARROW.
