This is the Duluth Birding Report for April 13th, 2013 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Two EARED GREBES were found by Shawn Conrad and Earl Orf on the 12th in Itasca County at the Grand Rapids wastewater treatment plant. The overwintering male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was relocated on the 7th by Peder Svingen at 19th Street on Park Point. LONG-TAILED DUCKS were seen on the 13th at Burlington Bay in Two Harbors.

An “AUDUBON'S” YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen on the 13th in Two Harbors at 4th Avenue and 2nd Street.

Other recent spring arrivals in the past week include NORTHERN HARRIER, OSPREY, AMERICAN COOT, KILLDEER, SANDHILL CRANE, AMERICAN KESTREL, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, HERMIT THRUSH, FOX SPARROW, EASTERN MEADOWLARK, COMMON GRACKLE, and RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD.
