Hi all, I was able to relocate and confirm the Snowy Egret in Marshall County (Rare). Picture below. Its worth noting that this bird has ranged more than 0.5 miles east/west but has never been more than 0.5 mile north of the Polk County line, where Snowy Egret is unlisted. http://williamhblackburniibirding.shutterfly.com/pictures/204 GPS Coords: 48.166901 -096.600015 This is just east of 260th Ave and 210th Street on 210th street. From Thief River Falls head West on MN-1 until you get to 260th Ave. There will be a brown sign here for "Audubon". Turn left. Head south 1 mile and turn left onto 210th St. This is across the from big red gate. The gate marks the corner of the Agassiz Valley Project which is an impoundment that extends to the west and south. If the Snowy is not in the ditching along 210th street, it's worth checking the impoundment (which is open to the public). Drive in access to the public is located at 280th Ave and 210th St (2 miles west of GPS coords). The Snowy has been associating with a group of 4 to 8 Great Egrets in the ditch that serves as the inlet to the impoundment. For those that are county listers: The tree line that extends to the west 0.5 miles south of the intersection of 260th Ave and 210th street is the Marshall/Polk County line. Other birds of note seen today: OSPREY Marshall County (Occasional) ~ 1 mile east of the Snowy Egret coords on 210th. Seen fishing over the 3 foot wide ditch, which didn't make sense to me considering there is easily 3 square miles of open water a few miles west. http://williamhblackburniibirding.shutterfly.com/pictures/205 ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
