This is the Duluth Birding Report for October 4th, 2013 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

An ARCTIC TERN was found by Mike Hendrickson and Andy Nyhus on the 28th on the Minnesota side of the Superior Entry. A PARASITIC JAEGER was reported from here as recently as the 3rd, and a GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL, LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, and THAYER'S GULLS were seen on the weekend of the 28th and 29th.

A EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was seen briefly by Karl Bardon on the 2nd near the Lester River at Superior Street in east Duluth. Karl and others had a record breaking count of 3,585 AMERICAN GOLDFINCHES at the same location on the 2nd.
