This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday March 6th, 2014.

On March 5th, Jim Lind reported an adult GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL flying
up the shore of Lake Superior in Two Harbors, Lake County.

On the 1st, John Kroll reported an early SANDHILL CRANE about two miles
east of Clarissa on Todd County Road 20.

Fred Eckhart has had a RED-SHAFTED FLICKER in his yard in Boyd, Lac qui
Parle County, since December 24th.

On March 1st, two SNOWY OWLS were near Sargent in Mower County, along
330th Street at 665th Avenue.

And in Wabasha County, a TOWNSEND SOLITAIRE is still being seen in the
Whitewater WMA. On March 2nd, it was on the north side of state highway
74, one and a quarter miles north of county road 26.
