This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Friday November 7th, 2014.

Roy Zimmerman reported a KING EIDER on November 1st at Good Harbor Bay
in Cook County. This is just outside Grand Marais.

A PRAIRIE FALCON was reported from Clay County on the 1st, along 140th
Street North, about three-quarters of a mile north of U.S. Highway 10.

A MUTE SWAN was at the Gaylord wastewater treatment ponds in Sibley
County on the 7th.

Two SURF SCOTERS were seen by Craig Mandel on Centerville Lake in Anoka
County on the 6th. They were observed from the Waterworks Bar parking
lot along Main Street. And three WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were on Lake
Calhoun in Minneapolis on the 4th.

A PACIFIC LOON was on Wigwam Bay at Lake Mille Lacs in Mille Lacs County
on October 31st.

A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was near the floating dock on Lake Calhoun,
Minneapolis on the 6th.

A SNOWY OWL was reported on the 28th along U.S . Highway 53 near the
Duluth Airport. And in Meeker County, another was seen on the 6th along
Meeker County Road 20 just north of 360th Street.

A TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE was found by Kelly Brannick on October 31st in
the southeastern corner of Elk River along the 15900 block of Jarvis
Street NW on the Sherburne - Anoka county line.

And a SUMMER TANAGER was photographed by Mark Newstrom on the 4th at his
Minneapolis backyard feeding station. The bird first appeared on October
29th.
