This is the Duluth Birding Report for April 30th, 2015 sponsored by the
Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Jan and Larry Kraemer saw a BLACK SCOTER on the 23rd in the Duluth
Harbor out from 36th Avenue on Park Point. A flock of 26 LONG-TAILED
DUCKS was seen at Brighton Beach in east Duluth on the 26th. A flock of
19 was seen at Burlington Bay in Two Harbors on the 27th.

Clinton Nienhaus saw two first-cycle ICELAND GULLS on the 25th at the
first parking lot on Wisconsin Point. Jan and Larry Kraemer also saw a
THAYER'S GULL and three GLAUCOUS GULLS there on the 25th.

A flock of 20 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was seen by Ben Anderson on the 29th
near the Sky Harbor Airport on Park Point. A flock of 12 BOHEMIAN
WAXWINGS was also seen on the 29th in Two Harbors along CR 2 (4th
Street) at 10th Avenue, across from the clinic.

An immature GOLDEN EAGLE was seen in Morgan Park in west Duluth on the
26th.

Recent new arrivals in the area include CHIPPING SPARROW on the 24th,
BROAD-WINGED HAWK, FORSTER'S TERN on the 26th, LE CONTE’S SPARROW and
SAVANNAH SPARROW on the 27th
