This is the Duluth Birding Report for August 29th, 2015 sponsored by the
Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A PIPING PLOVER was found by Larry and Jan Kraemer on the 29th on the
lake side of Park Point near the old lighthouse beyond the Sky Harbor
Airport. Bob Williams saw a BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER on the 28th at Park
Point, although I don't have a more specific location.

Kim Eckert saw a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER on the 27th at the Castle Danger
sewage lagoons. At least eight other shorebird species were also present
there on the 27th, including STILT SANDPIPERS.

Karl Bardon and others counted more than 2,200 CLIFF SWALLOWS on August
24-25 at the Hawk Ridge overlook. Karl also saw a BLACK-BACKED
WOODPECKER here on the 27th.

The next scheduled update of this report will be on September 3rd.
