Sorry, I should have been more specific. It is dominantly for SIMS work on Fe-metal so it has to be iron nitride (I used Si3N4 and BN for the probe work so far). I know that there should be a European Union produced standard (according to Saunders et al. 2004 in Microchimica Acta) floating around that I have not been able to track down. I thought that more labs potentially synthesized them.

From a time perspective there is not really enough time to put it in the pipe line for production.

Thank you for all the suggestions so far though!

Best,
Anette

Hi Anette,
You can get single crystal GaN commercially.  I have some.  Is this trace nitrogen?  In which case the standard doesn't really matter.  So boron nitride would also work...

You might also post your request here:

Dear all,

I have project on nitrogen in various materials in my lab and am trying to find a iron nitride that is not a powder for associated SIMS work (so GaN won't do).

Does anyone know of a source or even have some to share? Willing to pay or otherwise have various other materials to trade.

Thank you!

Best,

Anette
