An immature BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was relocated on the 28th by Lars Benson at Canal Park in Duluth. The immature Ivory Gull at Canal Park has not been seen since the 24th. Small numbers of ICELAND GULLS, THAYER'S GULLS, GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL, and GLAUCOUS GULLS are also being seen. The GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW at 44th Avenue East and Regent Street in the Lakeside neighborhood of Duluth was reported as recently as the 24th. Birders are welcome to look for the bird but the homeowner asks observers to stay on the sidewalk and not venture into his yard. Steve Hauck saw a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE on the 24th along Fay Avenue near West College Street near the UMD campus. Four LONG-TAILED DUCKS were still present on the 26th at Agate Bay in Two Harbors. A flock of 75 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was seen on the 23rd at 1st Avenue and 1st Street in Two Harbors. A flock of 50 was seen on the 24th along the West Knife River Road, 0.7 mile west of the Homestead Road in Duluth Township, and Frank Nicoletti and others saw 40 at Stoney Point on the 26th. They also saw a flock of 15 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS on the 26th at Tofte in Cook County, and four LONG-TAILED DUCKS at Cascade River State Park. Ken Larson saw 104 LONG-TAILED DUCKS on the 22nd at Good Harbor Bay, four miles west of Grand Marais. Frank Nicoletti's group saw two SPRUCE GROUSE, three BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS on the 24th near the Sand River along Lake County Road 2. A GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCH was photographed on the 26th at a private residence on Birch Lake near Babbitt in northern St. Louis County. The dark gray/intermediate morph juvenile GYRFALCON near the Peavey elevator and Connor's Point off US Highway 53 in Superior was reported as recently as the 27th, and the adult male was seen on the 23rd.
