This is the Northwest Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, August 16, 2018 sponsored by the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce. You may also see this report on the Chamber of Commerce website: https://www.visitdetroitlakes.com/birding-report
Another hot week has passed, and the drought in the northwest is taking its toll on yards, and trees. We were reminded of fall's approach, however, when we awoke one morning to temperatures in the 40ís. That heralded one cooler day, but it was ninety again today, and no rain in sight. We are noticing that the deer and other mammals are increasingly predating on the plants in our gardens, presumably looking for something juicy.
