Hey birders,

A total of 27 observers counted 43 species on this year’s Mankato Christmas
Bird Count (22 December 2018). Some of the winter favorites were absent,
but at least one of the Carolina Wrens continues at Rasmussen Woods in
Mankato and was found on the day of the count. Other highlights included
Harris’s, White-throated, and Song Sparrows, Brown-headed Cowbird, Eurasian
Collard-Dove, Golden-crowned Kinglet, and a Krider’s Red-tailed Hawk.

Happy birding!
