I have a question for those who have experience from JEOL JXA 8900 Superprobe. In case of bad alignment, is there any DETAILED PROTOCOL you use to initially align the beam or to reset the total column? That would be great help to start with, before call JEOL service.----------------------------------------------------------------

I have noticed the following problem on my JEOL JXA-8900 Superprobe.
At the lowest magnification (40X), the 30% of the screen (left part) is black (either under SE or BSE). Please note, that under OM (reflected light) the image looks perfect. Also, at higher mag the horizontal movement (when inspecting a sample) is like having internal reflections. The filament has been replaced very recently, however, i had the same problem still occurring since the last week with the previous filament. Also, at higher mag (from 950X to 1000X and 9500X to 10000X) there is a considerable shift on horizontal axis. I tried the objective lense aperture (X and Y) however, nothing changed. Any idea for the problem and how can i fix it?
All the best.
