**** JEOL Probe Users ListserverYou can generally visually look at the fuse and see if the wire has burned out (magnifying glass helps) or use a volt ohm meter to test,. IF the fuse is bad you replace it with the same rated fuse. Fuses may be located in a block of fuses, on the circuit board or in a fuse holder in a wire (usually a twist to open). Fuses should be marked on the wiring diagram. I would suggest a service call.

Ok.
1) how do you check them?
2) how do you replace them?

Ioannis,
Turn off console power, remove the lower front cover and try re-seating the PC boards. Sounds like you may have developed
a bad contact (oxidation) on the edge connector of one of the boards.

Dear Colleagues,
I have noticed the following problem on my JEOL JXA-8900 Superprobe.
At the lowest magnification (40X), the 30% of the screen (left part) is black (either under SE or BSE). Please note, that under OM (reflected light) the image looks perfect. Also, at higher mag the horizontal movement (when inspecting a sample) is like having internal reflections. The filament has been replaced very recently, however, i had the same problem still occurring since the last week with the previous filament. Also, at higher mag (from 950X to 1000X and 9500X to 10000X) there is a considerable shift on horizontal axis. I tried the objective lense aperture (X and Y) however, nothing changed. Any idea for the problem and how can i fix it?
All the best.
