Dear WBI members,

As you likely have read in our newsletters, WBI has compiled a comprehensive outline bank to support your finals preparation. We write today with an exciting update: the Journal of International Law and Minnesota Law Review have agreed to add outlines to our collection! Many of these outlines are from recent years. We are proud to continue building the community culture upon which Minnesota Law prides itself. You can access the outline bank here, which we will update if we receive additional outlines. At this point, each journal has contributed to our outline bank – thank you for collaborating with us!

Additionally, the WBI Academic Well-Being Committee would like to share its preliminary report on student mental health. This report was created based on data received through our recent well-being survey. You can read the report here, which includes the following three asks of UMN law faculty:

  1. Immediately release recordings of class sessions for student access.
  2. Record all classes beginning in Spring 2022 and release recordings throughout the semester.
  3. Allow and encourage students to opt-out of cold calls beginning in Spring 2022.

These asks were based upon data collected through the WBI survey, which demonstrated that law student mental health has continued to decline since Spring 2021. Earlier this afternoon, WBI sent this report to the law school faculty.

Thank you to those who participated in our survey. We encourage you to contact your professors about this report and ask them to support the policy changes therein.

Sending warmth and productivity,
The Well-Being Initiative
