WBI Weekly Digest It’s Fall, Y’all Well-Being Wednesday Stress Management for Law Students RESCHEDULED! Tuesday, September 27th from 12:15-1:15pm. Mondale Hall, Room 35. Join us and Chase Andersen from Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers. Learn how to manage stress in a healthy way, specifically while facing the unique challenges of law school. Become a Mentor! The mentorship program is a staple of WBI. It pairs law students together to help them navigate the challenges of law school. Right now, we have a significant shortage of mentors. As a mentor/mentee duo, you can choose how often you meet. This is a peer-to-peer opportunity to meet new people, share your experiences, and hopefully make a friend. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please fill out this form <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdfvsaP2J2Mb84WQl8StX5KNC6THZVOtFDup53y6TbvlVsdOA/viewform> . If you need a getaway, head to the North Shore. It is beautiful! Advice Column Hey Friends! This is a gentle reminder to take time out of your days and weeks to honor your whole self. Law school is set up to always have more you have to do, brief cases, work in your student organizations, start outlining, network, etc. It is a never-ending list of to-dos that can cave in on you if you don’t set good boundaries with your time and energy. This is obviously way easier said than done, so here are some tips. Like most advice, take what you need and leave the rest. Schedule an hour or two a week into your calendar to do nothing. Or, if you’re like me and need an activity during your “nothing,” plan to non-judgmentally spend time playing video games (I’m a fan of Disney Dreamlight Valley), watch Tiktoks, or watch an episode or two of a comfort show. For some people, this looks like taking a night or two completely off of school work, for others, it means only doing school work at school. Play with different options to figure out what works for you. Take care of your health. This is one of the first things that go with the stress of law school. Eat, sleep, movement, water, rest. Go back to the basics. Go to the doctor when needed (if possible) and get your flu shot. Be gentle to yourself and others. Each of us has an internal and external world far greater than just the legal community. Many of our classmates are hurting, whether that is from systemic issues, the state of the world, disabilities, family struggles, and/or law school stress (among many others). Whether or not people feel comfortable sharing their struggles, we are all stressed. We are all trying our best and our best can look different on different days. That is okay. With love, Sierra Grandy ([log in to unmask]) Any questions, concerns, or topics that you’d like some advice on, feel free to submit them here <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfAqNgKEby8bdtoGJcXV6fRwYDX51qRnYgyxJEhcTgovMeKCw/viewform>!
