-=> Hi folks
-=>
-=> It's come to that time in life where we are considering upgrading the
-=> computer on our MRC 600. It's the standard RM QE 33 dx. Has anyone
-=> experienced the joys of upgrading and is it a relativly easy task? The
-=> video card definatly has to go (its a VGA), but can the motherboard be
-=> upgraded to a pentium, is the addition of more RAM easy etc.
-=>
-=> Thanks in advance from a computer novice.

Hey .......
I don't know what you are running on now (your computer)
....... but .......
I just got a ..... AMD 486DX4 100Mhz chip and motherboard for $279
and could have gotten it for $239 by mail ......
As far as memory ..... our machine is running with 40meg .....
Pentium's usually have a special motherboard .... (I believe it has
to do with the clock speed) ..... but now usually all the new
motherboards can handle it.
Try to get all your memory on 1 simm ..... so you will have open
slots left for more memory in the future ....
The more memory the better ..... it's kinda' funny that it is also
the most expensive part hahahah.... I just got an 8 meg simm for
$290......
Write me if you want to talk ...... this can be a
deep subject .......
