Judy,
Give Draq-5 a try. We have had very good results when we have had to use
a nuclear probe in the high red.

Subject: live nuclear dye

Fellow Confocalists
I am looking for a nuclear counterstain for live cells which excites
around 633nm. Molecular Probes' Syto dyes (59-64), while they do excite
at that wavelength, also label mitochondria because of their positive
charge.
We are already staining mitochondria with a red/green apoptotic marker
(red if live; green if apoptotic) so cannot change the wavelength of the
mitochondrial marker to green - are there any?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions
Judy
