- unless your living specimen is an in ovo chicken embryo! Obviously that's
out, but is there a way people can image brain, muscle etc in a mouse in
vivo with an inverted scope?

I would take an inverted scope over an upright any day.  You can do more
things easily on it especially for imaging living specimens.

Is the Zeiss Axiovert or the Axioplan the more versatile in a 2-photon
confocal microscope setting using the Zeiss LSM 510 meta system?
