We are using Fura Red (MolProbes) as a ratiometric calcium indicator for
visible light confocal imaging, blue excitation (ratio between 457 and
488 nm), the emission is above 600 nm. It's not the best indicator in
terms of quantum yield and dynamic range, but it's the only one that can
be used as a single indicator for ratiometric visible light confocal
calcium imaging. I have discribed the method in
Lohr, Cell Calcium 34, 295- , 2003.
I can send you the pdf if you like.

Best regards
Chris
