Dear Confocal Microscopy Colleagues,
 
Kjell Carlsson and I are getting close to the SPIE deadline for putting
together the program for the 6-10 February 1994 Conference on 3-D Microscopy:
Image Acquisition and Processing (the announcement and call for papers was
emailed to this network on 23 June).  We hope very much that you and possibly
some of your colleagues and students are planning to attend the conference.
Since we are now past the initial SPIE deadline for submitting abstracts, we
would like to ask if you could email or fax us a short communication
confirming your plans to participate, including a tentative title and short
abstract, so we can save you a place in the program.  We realize that SPIE has
early deadlines for initial abstract submission, however there will be plenty
of time to write a final revised abstract in a few months.
 
Papers are invited in the following and related areas:
* confocal microscopy
* 3-D image formation
* instrumentation for 3-D microscopy
* time-resolved image acquisition systems
* image processing and analysis
* 3-D image reconstruction
* super-resolution
* spatio-temporal reconstruction of living cells and tissues
* applications of 3-D microscopy in materials science
* image visualization techniques for 3-D microscopy systems, including
  volume rendering, animation, stereoscopic and holographic display.
 
We are hoping to put together an interesting and informative meeting and your
participation will be most welcome.  Please let us hear from you soon!
