A 1 or 2 month wait is peanuts! We have a Zeiss 310 CLSM fitted with
Ar/Kr and He/Ne lasers. I've just had to wait 6 months (!) while
Omnichrome (apparently now bought up by MellesGriot) repaired our
Ar/Kr. I had to send it via a UK laser distributor that made matters
worse. Despite repeated emails/phone/faxes, not once did MellesGriot
get back to me. Zeiss refuse to cover Ar/Kr laser repairs on their
"all inclusive" maintenance contract although they are willing to
give me a replacement Ar so that I can get 488nm.

I find this situation equally unacceptible - it's nice to know I am
not alone but what can we do about it?

Mark
