Position Title Research Technologist II
Review of applications will begin on 06-12-2006
Description of Work : Conduct collaborative studies using advanced bio-imaging techniques, including confocal, digital fluorescence, and electron microscopy. Provide technical expertise in cell biology and assist other researchers to accomplish their research goals. Responsible for sample preparation (including isolation, fixation, and sectioning), immunofluorescence labeling, and examination of the samples with fluorescence or electron microscopes. Share the responsibilities of maintenance of the microscope, writing scientific reports, and training or supervising the activities of users or students.
Minimum Qualifications : Master's in cell biology or related field plus two years experience working with sample processing for microscopy required; equivalency considered. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications PhD preferred. Experience in ultrathin sectioning, confocal microscopy and immunochemistry, preferred. Salary $35,000 annually.
