In reply to my request for ideas about the molecules which could produce
red autofluorescence (600-620 emission detected after 543 OR 488
excitation), both Glen Macdonald and Martin Wessendorf thought that
lipofucscin was a likely culprit. I have a possible glitch to throw into
this idea, because these are LIVE TISSUE experiments. No fixative. Do you
think lipofuscin would still contribute?
