Jennifer, There are couple of options as far as our recent study on this
subject. There are two programs i.e., Metamorph and Image Pro-Plus can
perform this function with additional features including providing you a
correlation coefficient (Pearsons coefficient), cololaization coeficient as
well as percent colocalization. Both are in principle following the same
algorithm published in this article (reference at the bottom) and in
Metamorph you have the option to use both thresholded and unthresholded
images. In general, there are some advantages and disadvantages with both
the programs.
