Propidium Iodide stains DNA much more strongly than RNA (due to the large amount of dsDNA compared to dsRNA in the cell) and so is most useful as a DNA stain even without RNAase treatment as suggested by Jonathan Bard. Otherwise the RNAase treatment does work very well to remove any RNA staining.
