Hello,
Another stain to consider for staining DNA in fixed tissues is Feulgen.
It is highly fluorescent in the Rhodamine channel and I use my Green HeNe
(543nm) laser to get great images of interphase and mitotic phase nuclei
in embryo tissues and histological slides.
