We use a 633nm HeNe for studies of phycobilisomes in cyanobacteria. We also
have a pulsed laser diode at around the same wavelength that has been used
for time resolved fluorescence measurements.

To excite TOPRO-3 for nuclear staining. Allows use of a red channel for
some marker other than PI or EB while saving having to use a UV laser to
visualise Hoechst or DAPI.
