Dear Colleagues,

Northeastern University is recruiting faculty in several
areas and will consider researchers with imaging-related
research programs and/or with interests in employing one of
NU's advanced imaging/microarray facilities in their research
plans.  The following two ads recently appeared in science:

FACULTY  POSITIONS IN  BIOLOGY /  ECOLOGY

              AND BIOINFORMATICS

The Department of Biology of the College of Arts and
Sciences, in conjunction with the Bouve College of Health
Sciences and the College of Computer Science, invites
applications for a TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT
PROFESSORSHIP available September 2002.  Qualifications
include a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or a related discipline
and postdoctoral experience.  The successful candidate
will be expected to develop an externally funded research
program in bioinformatics and to participate enthusiastically
in undergraduate and graduate teaching.  Our web site

                ECOLOGY

The Department of Biology invites applications for a
TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSORSHIP
available September 2002.  Qualifications include a Ph.D.
in Ecology or a related discipline and postdoctoral experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop an
externally funded research program in ecology and to
participate enthusiastically in undergraduate and graduate
teaching.  All areas of ecological science will be considered
for this position, including community, population,
behavioral, evolutionary, physiological, and biochemical
ecology.  Applicants should note the opportunity for marine
ecological research available at our Marine Science Center in
Nahant, MA, but ecologists working in other habitats will
receive equal consideration.  Our web sites

Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a statement of
research interests and plans, and a statement of teaching
experience and interests to the Bioinformatics Faculty Search

The applicant should also arrange to have at least three
letters of reference sent independently to the appropriate
committee.  Review of applications will begin on
