I use VALAP.  It is 1:1:1 vaseline, lanolin, paraffin.  Heat at low
temperature slowly stir and mix.  You can make a big batch and keep small
amounts in a beaker .  Use qtip, brush or pasteur pipette to seal.
It is flammable.  Avoid getting this on your objectives.
