Hello,

Sorry to ask such a low tech question, but has anyone tried or have opinions
about blue LED adapted scopes for visualizing EGFP? I have gotten fairly
good results from large tissue blocks expressing EGFP using a strong blue
LED flashlight, but I don't know how feasible it is for sections. Here are
two links for do-it-yourself guides.

In particular I am thinking about adapting a dissecting microscope for very
gross visualization of EGFP in brain sections. The sections will probably
be from 50 microns to 1 mm. Does anyone have experience with this or
suggestions?

Thanks,

Caroline
