Stephen,
The programme this links to is last years! I'm being
asked by your colleagues to organise my travel but it would be easier if
I had a programme for this year! Doing my fluorescence intro is fine -
so long as the lecture room has a decent blackout so I can play my
tricks! Can I assume that it will be OK for me to come up Sunday
morning and return Friday?

Subject: Monash Micro Imaging Live Cell Workshop 2010
Monash Micro Imaging would like to announce that the Live Cell Imaging
workshop is on again this year.
Title Live Cell Imaging 2010
When Sunday November 28th - Friday December 3rd.
Where Monash Micro Imaging, Monash University, Melbourne,
Australia
Tuition $1500AUD +GST (10%)
Students 24 positions available
Topics to be covered include
Confocal, Multiphoton, Live Cell, "Deep" tissue imaging, Protein-Protein
interactions, Optimising Imaging, Digital Imaging and Analysis, and
Super Resolution.
The course will include morning lectures and afternoon practicals.
Please see http://www.microimaging.monash.org/docs/2009/lci09prog.pdf
for the proposed program.
We will provide a range of fluorescent cell markers and novel
fluorescent protein tags that will be used during the course on cell
lines.
To ensure all aspects of imaging are covered we will be holding evening
image processing labs using the data generated by the afternoon
practicals. We recommend that students get accommodation locally to
allow and ensure full participation in these evening sessions (finish @
10pm).
Groups will be assigned a mentor to assist them with the science of live
cell microscopy. Representatives of the microscope companies will be
assisting with operation of systems and specific questions regarding
instrumentation. Groups are expected to present their results on Friday
afternoon.
Mentors will include
Iain Johnson, Life Technologies
Guy Cox, EMU Sydney University
Cameron Nowell, Ludwig Cancer Research Institute, Melbourne
Sarah Ellis, Peter MacCallum Research Institute
Steve Cody, MMI AMREP Monash University
Camden Lo, MMI Monash University
Equipment: In addition to the wide range of confocal and fluorescent
microscopes in the dedicated live cell imaging facility we are excited
to present for this year's course:
Leica cwSTED
Zeiss LSM780
Perkin Elmer UltraView VOX
With more to come....
Participant samples are welcome, but please liaise with the laboratory
manager to organise import to the facility as soon as possible.
Please see the Monash Micro Imaging website for equipment lists, updates
and accommodation. http://www.microimaging.monash.org/lci2010.html
