FOCUS ON MICROSCOPY 2012 - Singapore, April 1- 4, 2012

25th International Conference on 3D Image Processing in Microscopy
24th International Conference on Confocal Microscopy

Dear Colleagues,

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations can now be submitted through the conference website: http://www.FocusOnMicroscopy.org where also the conference registration has opened and hotel information is available.

Deadline for abstract submission: January 10, 2012.

After the successful FOM2011 conference held in Konstanz, Germany this year, the upcoming Focus on Microscopy 2012 will take place in Singapore in the week before Easter from Sunday April 1 to Wednesday April 4, 2012.

It is the next in a series of unique interdisciplinary meetings on advanced multi-dimensional light microscopy and image processing. The conference will take place at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre, in the heart of Singapore and will be sponsored by the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the Centre of Bioimaging Sciences (CBIS) and the Mechanobiology Institute (MBI).

Focus on Microscopy 2012 is the continuation of a yearly conference series presenting the latest innovations and new trends in optical microscopy and their application in biology, medicine and material sciences.

Key topics are:
- Theory and practice of confocal and multiphoton-excitation microscopy
- 3D and 4D live cell and tissue imaging
- Super-resolution, nanoscopy imaging: from PSF engineering (4pi, SIM, STED), fluorescent activation/quenching, stochastic/centroid to TIRF
- Time-resolved fluorescence: FRET, FRAP, FLIM, FCS
- Coherent, non-linear microscopies: SHG, THG, SFG, CARS
- Multi-dimensional fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy imaging
- Correlative Light/Electron microscopy
- Laser manipulation and tracking, photo-activation
- Bio- and nano-materials, biosensors
- OCT, endoscopy
- Fast acquisition, automated and high-throughput microscopy
- 3D image processing and visualization for multidimensional data

The conference series is, in addition, known for covering the rapid development of advanced fluorescence labeling techniques for the confocal and multi-photon 3D imaging of -live- biological specimens.

Abstracts for contributions are invited and can be submitted through the website: http://www.FocusOnMicroscopy.org where further information on the present and previous FOM conferences can be found.

Important dates:
Deadline for the submission of abstracts: January 10, 2012
Acceptance of contributions, draft program: February 6, 2012
Deadline for early registration: February 21, 2012

We welcome you to Singapore for the FOM2012 conference and exhibition. To stay informed about the conference please leave your name and email at http://www.FocusOnMicroscopy.org/stayinformed

On behalf of the organizing committee:
- Colin Sheppard, National University of Singapore, Singapore
- Thorsten Wohland, National University of Singapore, Singapore
- Fred Brakenhoff, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands
