A standard software package for graphic and image file conversion is
Hijaak [Inset, 71 Commerce Drive, Brookfield, CT 06804-5634.  Phone (203)
740 2400.]  .PIC and .TIF files are within its repertoire of
capabilities.  It should work for you unless there's something bizarre
about the BioRad files.  Re batch needs, I don't know.
