This is the Duluth Birding Report for September 10th, 2015 sponsored by
the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Three PARASITIC JAEGERS and a BLACK TERN were found by Alex Lamoreaux on
the 5th at the first parking lot on Wisconsin Point. Up to five
PARASITIC JAEGERS were reported by John Richardson and others on the 8th
at the first parking lot, and one was seen crossing the Superior Entry
into Minnesota waters on the 7th and 9th. An adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED
GULL was also reported by John Richardson on the 8th from the first
parking lot on Wisconsin Point.

Kim and Cindy Risen saw a subadult FRANKLIN'S GULL on the 8th at the
Park Point Recreation Area. This may be the same individual reported
from the area since August. Dedrick Benz saw a BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER
on the 7th at the Park Point Recreation Area ball fields.

Single SWAINSON'S HAWKS flew over Hawk Ridge on the 8th, 9th, and 10th,
and RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS were seen on the 7th and 9th. Jim Lind saw a
female BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER on the 10th on the east side of Stoney
Point, a quarter mile from the eastern entrance off Scenic 61.
