This is an early report this week due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Weather has been mild and pleasant lately, and no more snow or rain has
come to plague us. Owls are the key species this week with several
different species being reported.

also on MN 72. Gretchen Mehmel saw a NORTHERN HAWK OWL on the Roosevelt
Road north of the Faunce-Butterfield Road, and one on the Roosevelt Road
south of Cecil's Landing. Late last week a GREAT GRAY OWL was found
along the Faunce-Butterfield Road between the Roosevelt Road and the
Hogsback. All the those seen by Gretchen were in the Beltrami Island
State Forest. Another species that has returned to the forest is the
PINE GROSBEAK that is visiting the Norris Camp feeders. Beth Siverhus
also found a NORTHERN HAWK OWL in Be! l! trami County along MN 72 at
mile marker 42 on November 21.

In Kittson County , Larry Wilebski reported a HOARY REDPOLL on November
23. Other species seen on his property northwest of Lancaster included
BALD EAGLE, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, COMMON REDPOLLS, and PINE SISKINS.
