Hi Santiago (and all),

These are templates Kim Doberstein in ASR created. Kim does great work and there's nothing wrong with the templates these sites are using.

One of the things we're looking at improving, if we can, is the way the site search is set up. This template header allows you to search either that Google site or umn.edu. If it was a comprehensive search, it would give results for all umn.edu and all umn.edu Google sites, not just the Google site you're on. (Pete W. should feel free to correct me if I didn't get that quite right.)

For now, keep using what you've got. I'll be letting everyone know when we have a new design.

And thanks for asking!
Kathy

The template mentioned on the Forum list for IT communities of practice is one that we had collaborated on a year or so ago and is a good choice for anyone who needs to develop a Google site right away.

Things like being sure to set your site's permissions correctly to avoid publishing a site that anyone at the U can edit, or refining the search in a way that will allow it to produce the results your want or expect.
