Dear all,

I've followed the little discussion about the yellow HeNe 594 laser with
interest. Since we have quite a few antibodies with either Texas Red or
Alexa 594 tags, I'm investigating whether we can get a HeNe 594 that would
fit our new confocal (and if so, whether we can afford it!) From the
Bio-Rad fluorescence site, it looks like the 543 and 633 lasers fall just
outside the lower and upper ends of the excitation spectra for these dyes.
Our other two lasers will be the Ar 457/488/514 and HeNe 543, so we won't
have the ArKr 568 line.

What do people use the HeNe 633 laser for apart from Cy5? If we got the
HeNe 594 it would replace the 633.

regards,
