Dear all,

TILL-Photonics will present the TILL 2-Photon System on the Focus on
Microscopy 2001 meeting in Amsterdam (April 1st - 4th).
With this meeting TILL-Photonics will start to market the TILL-2Photon
System in Europe.

The TILL-2Photon System is a dedicated 2-Photon only system. It is
specifically designed and optimized for multi-photon microscopy.
Integrated modular components provide maximum flexibility and
adaptability to individual experimental challenges.
TILL's efforts are focused on application- and user specific solutions
as:
- in vivo 2-photon microscopy
- UV-uncaging combined with 2-photon microscopy
- 2-photon FLIM (fluorescence life time imaging)
- 2-photon microscopy combined with electrophysiology

The TILL 2-photon system consists of:

Scan unit YANUS - 2-photon only scan unit. New patented optical design
for maximum field planarity and homogenity (no movement of the laser
beam in the back focal plane).

Direct detectors - non-descanned detection only. Up to 4 detection
channels. PMTs selected for highest sensitivity (quantum efficiency).
Optional mechanical shutters in front of the PMTs. Barrier
Detectors in epi-configuration: 1 or 2 detection channels. Detectors
positioned as close as possible to the objective for maximum collection
efficiency. Both channels optically equivalent.
Detectors in trans-configuration: 1 or 2 detection channels. Detection
via high numerical aperture oil or water immersion condenser provides
highest possible collection efficiency. Both channels optically
equivalent.

The scan unit YANUS and the detector units are available for the upright
microscope Olympus BX50WI and the inverted microscope Olympus IX70

TILL also provides additional modular components for an integrated
system:
- Short pulse laser systems
- Laser beam management: Mirrors, mirror posts, complete beam tubing,
adjustment apertures monitored via cameras allow safe system alignment
with completely covered beam.
- Manual laser attenuation: Continuous from 2 -100% laser power, no beam
displacement, no thermal lens effects
- Electro-optical attenuation (Pockels-cell)
- Conventional epi-fluorescence illumination
- Bright field illumination through the objective for in vivo
applications
- Red/IR trans-illumination with contrast enhancement suitable for
patch-clamp experiments in slices
- Zoom telescope continuous adjustment of laser beam diameter from 2:1
to 1:2 for adaptation of the laser beam to different objectives or
maximizing resolution vs. power throughput
- LASEC certified laser safety system: acoustical and optical alarm,
laserlab access control, emergency switches etc.
- Laser diagnostics and laserlab equipment: Spectrometer, Oscilloscope,
IR-Viewer etc.
- Motorized xy- or xyz- electrophysiology stage for in vitro and/or in
vivo experiments (optional stereotactic animal holder)
- UV uncaging extension: A UV-light source can be coupled into the beam
path to combine 2-photon microscopy and photoactivation experiments.
- FLIM extension (Fluorescence Life Time Imaging): Integration of a time
correlated single photon counting device (Becker & Hickl TCSPC730) into
the 2-photon system.
- Optical tables with vibration isolation
- Computer, control electronics, software
- Mechanical and electronic adaptation of the setup to your specific
application.

In addition TILL will exhibit the TILL TIRF Module for evanescent wave
microscopy and the high speed/high resolution TILL Imaging System
(monochromator Polychrome IV, control unit, CCD-camera Imago, data
aquisition and analysis software TILL-Vision).

My best regards,

Konstantin
