Dear All,

I was having some problems with my Kr-Ar LASER. At about 700 hours it
started to have some current peaks wich had destroyed completly some images.

Meanwhile, after talking with Bio-Rad technical support, I diminish the
LASER current and it becomes good again (they just told me that the back
mirror was disaligned). Of course now with lower power. This had been
happening the last months, always putting the current lower and lower.

After talking with the technical support again they told me that it could be
some kind of dirty on the back mirror. As I realy need to take some
pictures, the power was to low and I was with some kind of hurry-scurry,
I've tryed to do it by my self.....Result: I don't have LASER any more. It
seams like this was an internal mirror (This ones can not be cleaned I guess
because the Gas goes out, but nevertheless id didn't hear nothing going
out....).

Does any one have some sugestion. I think that this has nothing to do with
bad cleanning once it was made with lots of carefull!

Just one more thing: Does anyone already tryed to install an Melles Griot
(Omnicrome) Laser in a Bio-Rad? They say it lasts for 5000 h, against the
1000 h of the ALC one

Many Thanks,
