We have an infra-red laser that we use to excite Hoechst and DAPI (multi-photon at 770 nm) but find the infra-red a bit tempremental and probably a bit expensive for this on a routine basis.
We are considering a 405 nm blue diode laser to study these fluorochromes.
Has anybody got any expereince of how good these lasers are for this work and what else such a laser may be good for?
