Which is very interesting.  I've seen such claims before and
they don't seem to stand much scrutiny.  Where do you buy your
galvo mirrors under $500?  You cannot be using many PMTs either.
Lasers are obviously out of the question, but then Petran &
Hadravsky's first confocal did use the sun for illumination,
and at least that's free.  The resolution obtainable with
sub $500 objectives must also be questionable.

Oh, and I guess it must be a pirate copy of Matlab, too.
