I'd suggest you just use the microscope laser lines.  They can hardly
argue with that.

One question - is the signal at PMT3 with Airy 1 pinhole substantially
lower intensity as well as lower spectral resolution?  One might expect
that if the cause is misalignment it would also make the signal weaker.
