Andrea, you may want to contact various manufactures to inquire about
drivers for your particular cameras. Some driver/camera/software
pairings work better than others. For example I believe Hamamatsu now
owns Compix so Compix has good support for their cameras and not others.
P.S. For my two cents, I like: Compix, Image Pro, SPOT (simplistic),
Velocity, and also Amira and Imaris.

I use ImageJ already. It's ok. I am looking to step it up a notch. We 
are a large research lab and need more sophisticated approach than 
homegrown methods.

As far as ImageJ does anyone have a user guide for histologists that 
to help new users become familiar?
