http://www.newi.ac.uk/BUCKLEYC/light.htm lists the refractive index of
mica as 1.561. However,
http://hypertextbook.com/physics/waves/refraction/ lists mica as being
birefringent, and moreover, as having different indexes of refraction
depending upon the particular type of mica.
Bailey and Kay (Br. J. Appl. Phys. 16 39-44, 1965) describe a method for
measuring the index of refraction of mica and give values varying
between 1.602 and 1.617 for muscovite mica, depending upon the exact
method. A .pdf is available at
http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/0508-3443/16/1/307 .
Good luck!
