This is a very common problem with cells growing in culture. Usually, coating the cover slips with a substrate like poly-D-lysine or collagen will take care of the problem, but there are some cell lines that will never grow as well on glass as plastic.

Dear All
We are working with B16F10 melanoma cell line which
is a highly adhesive line , recently we are facing the
problem of growing them . When we grow them in petri
plates it spreads very well but when seeded on
coverslips it remains rounded. What could be the
possible reason.
Regards
Vaishali
