To all microscopists,

The Center for Spatial Systems Biomedicine at OHSU is hosting the 2012
BioMedicine in 4D symposium, “Integrated –omics and Systems Microscopy”, on
March 21-23 at Oregon Health & Science University, in Portland, Oregon. The
program, which is a debut for Joe Gray’s Center for Spatial Systems
Biomedicine, features an excellent roster of over 30 speakers, including
two keynotes. Dr. Brian Druker will give the keynote address on March 22,
“Beyond Gleevec”, and Dr. Stephen Quake the keynote address on March 23,
“Precision measurement in biology”. A sampling of topics include Sriram
Subramaniam’s discussion of 3D EM at molecular resolution, Bob Glaeser's
discussion of in-focus phase contrast for cryo-EM, Garry Nolan’s discussion
of trans-cellular networks, Dan Vigneron’s discussion of hyperpolarized 13C
metabolic imaging, Trey Ideker’s genetic networks in cancer, Peter Sorger’s
discussion of modeling cell decision processes. In general the sessions
will explore integration of -omics with new and developing microscopy
techniques, expanded role of modeling, and translation of the new
approaches into therapies.

Also part of the program is a Shared Resource Colloquium: "Towards better
integrated visualization and characterization" to be held on March 21.
Presentation of posters is welcomed (please inform the coordinator).
Attendance at conference presentations is free and open to the public, and
registration with the option of lunches ($35) or without lunches (free) is
at http://www.ohsu.edu/ocssb . Registration is encouraged so we know how
many to prepare for at the sponsored mixing dinner on March 22. Please
